Hearing Rehabilitation Plans & Technology Options

Recognizing that you need a hearing aid is an important first step. Naturally, that decision is often followed by questions about cost, insurance coverage, technology options, and what services are included when investing in your hearing health.

At Aurora Audiology, successful hearing care involves far more than selecting a device. Our comprehensive hearing rehabilitation plans are built around your hearing needs, communication goals, lifestyle, and long-term health. Through evidence-based best practices, advanced technology, and individualized lifestyle assessment, we personalize every treatment plan to support hearing, communication, quality of life, and brain health.

Step-by-Step: Personalizing Your Treatment Plan

Step 1: Understanding Your Hearing Needs

Your hearing treatment plan begins with understanding how hearing loss affects your daily life. We consider your diagnostic results, communication challenges, listening environments, lifestyle, ear anatomy, technology preferences, and long-term hearing goals.

Step 2: Choosing the Right Technology

There is no one-size-fits-all hearing aid. Different technology levels and manufacturers offer different strengths in sound processing, background noise management, Bluetooth connectivity, rechargeability, comfort, and listening support. Because not every patient is best suited for every brand, Aurora Audiology works with multiple leading manufacturers to match the technology to the individual.

Step 3: Your Hearing Rehabilitation Program

At Aurora Audiology, your hearing aid investment includes more than the devices themselves to maximize hearing, communication, and long-term success.

Our comprehensive bundled hearing rehabilitation program includes:
  • Hearing aids with a 3-year manufacturer repair warranty and 3 years of manufacturer loss and damage coverage.
  • A 60-day treatment and adaptation period, including professional fitting, real-ear verification, individualized programming, instruction, counseling, and more frequent follow-up appointments to fine-tune your technology and help you successfully adapt to improved hearing.
  • Ongoing hearing healthcare services throughout your active manufacturer warranty period, including programming adjustments, hearing aid optimization, counseling, troubleshooting, maintenance, and ongoing rehabilitative support.

Step 4: Pricing, Insurance, and Payment Options

At Aurora Audiology, we believe cost transparency is essential to building a relationship founded on trust. Before making any treatment decisions, every patient receives a personalized hearing rehabilitation quote outlining the recommended technology, professional services, estimated insurance benefits, and expected out-of-pocket costs.

The total cost of your hearing rehabilitation plan may vary based on:
  • The hearing aid technology level selected
  • Optional accessories and custom earpieces, when appropriate
  • Available insurance benefits and coverage
Insurance coverage for hearing aids varies by plan. Insurance coverage for hearing aids varies significantly among plans and providers. Aurora Audiology participates with Medicare, Medicaid, and TriCare but is considered out-of-network with most commercial insurance plans and Medicare Advantage Plans. Because hearing aid benefits can differ substantially, we strongly encourage patients to contact their insurance carrier directly to inquire about hearing aid ("hearing hardware") coverage and eligibility requirements.

As a courtesy, our team will verify and estimate your available benefits to the best of our ability; however, insurance estimates are not guaranteed and do not constitute a guarantee of payment.

The portion of treatment costs not covered by insurance is due at the time of fitting. We accept cash, certified checks, and all major credit cards (a 4% processing fee may apply to credit card transactions). Financing assistance and payment options may also be available to help make hearing rehabilitation more accessible.

If you have questions about insurance coverage, hearing evaluations, or hearing treatment benefits, our team is happy to help guide you through the process.

Step 5: Long-Term Hearing and Brain Health

Remember—this is about you. Our goal is not simply to fit hearing aids, but to build a lifelong hearing healthcare partnership based on trust, ongoing support, measurable outcomes, and treatment options that fit within your budget.

We want to join you on your hearing journey. Through regular follow-up care, ongoing counseling, and personalized treatment recommendations, we are committed to helping you achieve the best possible hearing, communication, and quality-of-life outcomes for years to come. Stay connected to the people, activities, and moments that matter most with personalized hearing rehabilitation from Interior Alaska's Hearing Healthcare Provider!

Hearing empowers us to stay engaged with life—it allows us to connect with friends, maintain meaningful relationships, and communicate with the people we care about most. Research shows that healthy hearing also supports overall well-being in ways we might not immediately recognize, including reducing the risk of dementia, social isolation, depression, and other health concerns. Choosing to improve your hearing is truly an investment in both your quality of life and your long-term health.

When you choose hearing aids through Aurora Audiology, we help safeguard that investment by providing comprehensive rehabilitation for your entire auditory system—from the outer ear to the brain’s auditory processing centers. Your hearing rehabilitation program includes a three-year manufacturer warranty, three years of loss and damage insurance, and three years of follow-up care. This coverage helps protect your devices from everyday challenges such as heat, humidity, earwax, and normal wear.

We are committed to helping patients in Fairbanks and surrounding communities find effective hearing solutions at affordable prices. We offer a wide selection of hearing aids, accept most insurance plans, and provide financing options to help make care accessible. We accept all insurance, including Medicare, TRICARE, and Alaska Medicaid—ask us how we can help make better hearing more affordable for you!
